Lacework Bracelet

Class Length: 6 hours

Description

Work with seed beads and crystals to create an open, lacework bracelet with a decorative button closure. Random right angle weave embodies the organic feel of the natural world rather than man-made symmetry or precision. No two pieces are every exactly the same, nor are they supposed to be, because no two stitching patterns are exactly alike.

Skills and Skill Levels required for class

All skill levels; some experience working with seed beads would be helpful.

Supply List

• Pencil or pen for notetaking
• Beading needle (I prefer the John James sharps, size 11 or 12)
• Beading thread: Silamide, Superlon AA in coordinating or contrasting color(s)
• Small, sharp embroidery scissors
• Bead mat or tray to hold beads
• Needle nose pliers to pull thread through tight bead holes
• Beeswax for coating thread

Beads & Findings

• Japanese size 11 seed beads
• 4 or 5mm bicone crystals (30-40 crystals) in coordinating or accent color and/or:
• Small (4 -6mm) pressed glass beads in contrasting colors (1 strand)
• Shank style button or jewelry clasp for bracelet
