Glacial Ice Bracelet

Class Length: 6 hours

Description

Learn to use random right angle weave to create an open, lacework bracelet. We will mix several color blends to seamlessly graduate the color along the length of the bracelet, shading from a bright white to a deep teal/turquoise. We will also look at a number of other color blends and options (kits will be available in several other color ways as well).

Random right angle weave embodies the organic feel of the natural world rather than man-made symmetry or precision. No two pieces are every exactly the same, nor are they supposed to be, because no two stitching patterns are exactly alike.

Skills and Skill Levels required for class

All skill levels. Some bead weaving skills helpful.

Supply List

• Pencil or pen for notetaking
• Beading needle (I prefer the John James sharps, size 11 or 12)
• Beading thread: Silamide, Superlon AA in coordinating or contrasting color(s)
• Small, sharp embroidery scissors
• Bead mat or tray to hold beads
• Needle nose pliers to pull thread through tight bead holes
• Beeswax for coating thread

Beads & Findings

• 2-4 varieties each of Japanese size 11 seed beads
• Dark color
• Medium value color
• Light color
• Whites
• 3mm bicone crystals in coordinating shades (10-15 each: light, medium, dark) and/or
• Size 11 Triangles in coordinating shades (light, medium, dark)
• Shank style button or jewelry clasp for bracelet
